MacKillop Education, informed by our Catholic ethos and values, is committed to equity and access to learning for all children and young people. We believe in the transformative and liberating power of education, supported by a safe community, that enables every student to flourish and achieve their full potential.
MacKillop Education's vision is inspired by our founders, Catherine McAuley, Mary MacKillop and Edmund Rice. Their faith, values and courage, and passionate commitment to social justice guide our work today.
Our vision or all children and young people to be safe, to learn, to feel nurtured and connected to culture is realised through a faithful commitment to our:
Values
Justice
We believe in the right of all people to be treated justly and fairly, irrespective of sex, race, ethnicity, culture, language, religion, marital status, disability, sexuality or age.
Hope
We seek to foster hope that assists people to find meaning, through their faith, relationships and experiences.
Collaboration
We commit to working in a collaborative spirit through co-operation, partnership and empowerment.
Compassion
We seek to foster compassion, an attitude of the heart and an expression of our shared humanity that leads to a deep desire to alleviate another’s suffering.
Respect
We seek to listen and learn from each other and build relationships with respect, being proud of what we hold in common and with understanding and tolerance of our differences. We seek to act with respect towards each other, the earth and all creation.
Faith and Spirituality
We aim to foster a deep understanding of our Catholic identity and nurture the spirituality of each person in our community.
Social Justice
We strive, like our founders, to create a more just world where we care for those in need, where resources are shared more equitably and where the principle of the common good guides and informs our actions.
MacKillop Family Services’ Reconciliation Action Plan
Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is just one example of our commitment to social justice. We want to ensure that our schools are culturally safe and that we are consistently working towards achieving reconciliation with and for the traditional owners of this land, beginning with the students in our care.
MacKillop Family Services’ Sustainability Strategy
We are firmly committed to sustainability. We hold a duty of care for the future of the children, young people and families we work with and our determination to play our part in contributing to a sustainable future for all.
